Everywhere in the food industry valves are used for shutting off, monitoring and controlling. They are decisive components for the safety, accuracy and reliability of plants. In order to reliably fulfil this task, sensors on the actuators of the valves are required in order to transmit the current valve positions to the controller or process control system via common interfaces.
Geri dönüşüm
Conventionally, magnetic or inductive proximity switches assume this task. They signal end stops such as "open” or "closed” to the controller by means of a switched signal. However, the detection of intermediate positions is of increasing interest. It allows the recording of cleaning cycles for rising stem valves and the detection and visualisation of unwanted operating states by a continuous valve detection. This meets the increasing requirements of modern process visualisation. The complete set from ifm electronic includes everything required for the automation of a rising stem valve: rising stem valve sensor, adapter and an operating element made of stainless steel. Quick installation of the adapter and easy switch point teaching by pressing a pushbutton on the sensor reduce the installation time.
Müşteriye sağladığı yararlar
As a result of the optimum distribution of force at the interfaces from the sensor to the adapter and the adapter to the actuator, this system is insensitive to mechanical stress such as vibration. Different adapters are available depending on valve manufacturer and type. This allows quick and easy installation.

Conventionally, magnetic or inductive proximity switches assume this task. They signal end stops such as "open” or "closed” to the controller by means of a switched signal. However, the detection of intermediate positions is of increasing interest. It allows the detection of cleaning cycles for rising stem valves as well as the visualisation of unintended operating states by means of continuous valve detection. This is the only way to meet the growing requirements of modern process visualisation.

The efector valvis was designed for feedback of the valve positions on rising stem valves with a stroke of up to 80 mm. The sensor is fitted over the valve spindle and continuously measures the stroke. Freely programmable switching outputs transmit the actual limits of travel to the controller. Quick installation of the adapter and easy switch point teaching by pressing a pushbutton reduce the set-up time. As a result of the optimum distribution of force at the interface from the sensor to the adapter this system is insensitive to mechanical stress such as vibration.

The task of filters is to keep dirt particles from swimming pool water and, consequently, to increase the water quality. They require regular backflushing to ensure their function. The controller must carry out the filter backflush processes independently and fully automatically - to relieve the staff and the higher-level control system.

AS-i is used for wiring and as the control system. With its Profibus DP interface, the AS-i controllerE AC1305 operates as a slave in the central controller. The pneumatic quarter-turn actuators used are equipped with sensors of the T5 series for actuator feedback (order no. AC2316) to pick-up and control the end position signals.
Müşteriye sağladığı yararlar
The simple wiring and set-up of AS-i systems and field modules provides economic advantages as regards labour costs and material costs. Thanks to the high protection rating and direct mounting on the actuator, the installation times of T5 are reduced as compared to conventional control boxes. Status LEDs for on-site diagnosis and the display of the controllerE provide a high degree of plant transparency.

In industrial processes where liquids, air or gases are used, valves are needed for dosing and control. These valves are seldom operated manually. Pneumatic valve actuators are normally used for mechanical positioning. The valve position must be monitored electronically. On the one hand to provide a feedback to the controller when a certain position (e.g. "open" or "closed") is reached. On the other hand it is necessary to monitor the valves centrally.

The devices in the IND range contain two inductive sensors for "open / close" detection of an actuator movement by means of target pucks. The digital output controls the solenoid valve for the pneumatic quarter-turn actuator. The AS-i connection allows direct connection to the yellow flat cable via an M12 insulation displacement connector. LEDs serve as switching status indicators for inputs and outputs.

By using state-of-the-art production technologies it has become possible to incorporate the latest AS-i technology with sensors and switching outputs in a space-saving housing. Mounting is effected using two screws on the quarter-turn actuators, standardised to VDI / VDE 3845. Combined periphery fault and communication error LED at the module provide the user with two important signals during set-up and operation. Two data bits for the first time allow separate evaluation of the "short circuit" and "wire break" situations on the output to generate even more targeted service information. The T modules can be addressed before mounting using the addressing unit via the M12 connector without voltage being applied. With the integrated display the modules can be addressed manually or automatically in the "Easy Startup" operating mode. All these features facilitate mounting, set-up and maintenance for the user and increase uptime of the whole AS-interface system.

Rising stem valves must signal their positions ("open" or "closed") to the controller. The implementation of the detection of intermediate positions by means of an analogue signal has been very complicated so far, e.g. by means of linear measurement.

efector valvis was designed for feedback of the valve positions on rising stem valves with a stroke of up to 80 mm. The sensor is fitted over the valve spindle and continuously measures the stroke. Previously selected switch points transmit the actual limits of travel to the controller. The sensor signals up to three valve positions to the controller: valve open, valve closed and any position in-between, e.g. seat lift. Furthermore, the resolution of the measuring distance of 0.2 mm allows condition-based maintenance of the valve seals. This way the maintenance intervals can be adapted to the actual wear, which in turn increases life and uptime.
Müşteriye sağladığı yararlar
With its precise valve feedback, efector valvis enables reliable fluid control. No switching signal is lost, even in case of a shrunk or swollen valve seal. Given that the valve plunger is entirely covered by the adapter, the risk of injury is minimised at this point. Furthermore, the analogue signal enables a precise valve control.
